Waxflower supports our local heroes

We're delighted to share that a newly released Kings Park plant will support Australian defence personnel suffering hardship.

Together with commercial partner Helix Australia, we announced this month that $1.00 of every Waxflower ‘Local Hero’ sale would go to the SAS Resources Fund.

The SAS Resources Fund aims to support current and former members of the Australian Defence Force, as well as their families, who face disability or loss due to their service with the Special Air Service Regiment.

Kings Park Senior Plant Breeder Digby Growns said the release of Kings Park Waxflower ‘Local Hero’ joined Grevillea ‘Spirit of Anzac’ in supporting service men and women.

‘Kings Park prides itself on not just developing plants that are hardy, attractive and floriferous, but also supporting important community organisations through program partnerships,’ he said.

Waxflower ‘Local Hero’ is a compact landscape plant featuring abundant dainty pink blooms in late spring against fresh, green and fine foliage, growing to approximately 80cm high and 1.5m wide.

Available in local nurseries now.
